Reading Challenges for 2012 – I’m an Addict
Who doesn’t love a challenge? Well, it’s not me, even though I’ve tried hard over the last two decades to defeat a dominant family “competitiveness gene.”

Once again, it’s that time of year when reading challenges are being posted and I see so many I’d like to join, my head spins. In fact, I’m an addict and I’m going to prove it by joining the Reading Challenge Addict challenge at the “In-Flight” level of 11-15 completed challenges.
Two years ago, I signed up for several and, although I completed most of them, I didn’t blog about the results. This year, I’ll do better!
So here’s a master list of the challenges I’ve taken on so far, and I’ll update this as I add more (although I don’t think you’ll get updates). I’m going to set up a page for each challenge and update those separate pages as I go but, again, I don’t think you’ll see any of those reports, so I’ll be sure to note any ‘challenges met’ in my monthly summary of books I’ve read.

I didn’t know there was a challenge for challenges. That might be a bit too much for me. I’m still working on finishing up a few of my challenges for this year.
It might prove to be my undoing, Leslie – but it seemed a good way to at least keep track of the challenges I take on.
Wow … it is that time of year again, isn’t it? I kind of finked out on challenges after being really gung-ho last year. I think I burnt myself out. Still, it is fun to see what challenges people are coming up with. There are so many neat ideas out there. Have fun with them!
Ah, Mrs. J – I may well burn myself out this coming year, but it’ll be the blogging, not the reading, I think. We’ll see…
Wow, that’s an awful lot of reading challenges
though I’m happy that you now also signed up for the Tea & Books Reading Challenge on my blog!
Ohhh my…that’s a lot of challenges lol
Glad to meet you and so glad you have decided to join in on the fun!! Stop by often throughout the year and let us know your progress. Also, our resident Queen Addict Bev, usually will find more challenges for us to join.
See you in a couple of weeks!!!
Thanks for dropping by, Cheryl!
hey, im a middle school student, and my class has a cool way for kids to branch out the types of books we’re reading: my teacher does a Genre Bingo Board. She’ll take genres that most of us wouldn’t typically read (but still will enjoy) and sticks them in different places, while throwing in a couple of our favorite types, and we’re required to do at least one “Bingo” of genres. I’ve read soooooooooo many books that i loved, and would never have read otherwise!
I discovered this site about an hour ago and its already on my bookmarks bar, and i’m looking for a button that says “ALERT ME EVERY TIME THERE’S A NEW POST”!!!!
I just thought all you reading junkies might like a new way to expand your horizons!
Happy Reading!
That sounds like a great idea, Madi – I shall have to challenge myself with that at some point.
If you want to get new posts, you can subscribe in an RSS reader or by e-mail. You’ll find the buttons in the top right corner of every page.
Thanks for stopping by!
I was looking around for reading challenges, and I am so glad I found your blog! Thanks for the nice list
I’m glad you found my list useful, Manisha. (And I’ll be adding another dozen to it in the next day or two.)
