April13

I haven’t posted for six months. Mostly, it’s because I’ve been busy with many things including back surgery. But I had to compare this spring here in Nova Scotia with last spring – and any of the other 17 springs we’ve lived here. Yesterday morning was sunny! And warm! (well, relatively: nearly 10 degrees C / 50 F) It was a lovely day to spot clean a wool carpet and let it dry on the back deck.

There’s not much green showing in the photo, but trust me, there’s a whole lot of budding going on w-a-y earlier than usual.

The other (bigger) reason that I haven’t posted is that every time I thought I could set up a quick post, I ran smack up against the Word Press Block Editor. It frustrated me, angered me even. I tried all the tips from various bloggers who have found a way around it – but my screens didn’t match theirs and I couldn’t click on the buttons they said to.

Now I’ve determined that if Block Editor had been what there was when I started posting, I would have learned it. So I’ll learn it now. Please bear with me and forgive my mistakes over the next few weeks.

Sorry you are having problems with WordPress. I use Blogger, and last year many people were bothered by changes made on that platform and some moved over to WordPress.

Seems like in both cases, different blogs had different problems. Hope you have luck in learning how to use the new interface.

Interesting about your weather in Nova Scotia. And I hope you are fully recovered from back surgery.

Seems nobody likes change, Tracy, especially that that is thrust upon them. I hope my decision to just accept it will help me in my learning journey. Thanks for still being “out there” and reading my blog. 🙂

I hit that same block editor wall so I use the Classic editor still. It’s a little different from what we had before but you can still switch to classic editor. It’s actually a block choice if you search for it.

That might just work, Ti! Thanks for the suggestion.

So great to hear from you and see one of your recent backyard photos! I went through changes earlier with Blogger and it was a pain. Somehow I muddled through. Now they are going to discontinue the Feed Burner thing, which is how people sign up to follow my blog. I have until July so I will put off doing anything about it for a while yet.

Ugh – I’m facing the same FeedBurner issue, Judy. Keep me updated if you tackle it?

Good for you Debbie- good to read a post from you again. I have come to like the block editor- besides learning something new is good for us, right? I also have to deal with the Feed Burner issue- when I switched to Word Press I started using a Jet Pack plug in for subscribers- so I might just ask the feedburner people to resubscribe a new way. If I find a better solution I’ll let you know. 😉

It’s really encouraging for me to know that you’ve come to like Block Editor, Julia. I’m still struggling – but I am determined to succeed! Thanks for dropping by. 🙂
